- Played tennis for Longwood University under Jhonnatan Medina-Alvarez ("JMA") as his coach
- Introduced to pickleball by JMA, who introduced Rosen to the pickleball community and helped show him the ropes
- Inspired by JMA's work ethic, passion and resilience, and therefore decided to pursue pickleball as more than just a fun game to play
- Believes he has a better one-hander than JMA, but would never say that to JMA's face
